Based in Paris, Antonio Virga Architecte has been working for more than 15 years on public facilities, housing projects, urban heritage enhancement projects in constrained sites, and interior renovation projects, with specific expertise in addressing the requirements of luxury brand environments.
For Antonio Virga, a project is successful when it is expressed with simplicity and when it evokes emotion. Guided by this spirit of synthesis, the architectural gesture becomes iconic: it gives character to, identifies and enhances each space it shapes. Antonio Virga’s architectural language seeks to demonstrate that rigour can give rise to lightness. Devoid of anything superfluous, his compositions convey nobility and poetry through an interplay in which light, proportions and the authenticity of materials contribute to the story of each place.
In 2012, he completed “L’Atoll” with Vincent Parreira, France’s first eco-friendly retail park, a multi-award-winning project that marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the two architects, leading to many other diverse and innovative programmes. In 2016, together they won the Réinventer Paris competition with a funeral facility and an urban logistics platform on the Poterne des Peupliers site.
Enjoying projects that range “from the teaspoon to the city” (Gio Ponti), Antonio Virga further reinforces his rejection of specialisation through the diversity of his work.
